A new lens on an old problem

Most homeless women with babies are just "crackheads" having sex to pay for drugs. So says Eva, an obstetrician at Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital. But for Jessica, a young street person with a history of homelessness, becoming a mother was her own rebirth as a responsible adult and parent with a home, a job – and a future. It literally saved her life.
