Who We Are
Hudson College is a private, non-denominational,
co-educational day school offering enriched academic programs from
Junior Kindergarten through to Grade 12 / Pre-University Program level.
Inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education, Hudson College offers a
full range of credits leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma,
which in turn prepares students for entry into universities in Canada,
the U.S., the U.K. and other countries around the world.
Hudson College is a relatively new school with an established
tradition. This is evident in the College's TOTAL PERSONAL SUPPORT™
system, which focuses on every student's personal needs in education
and learning. At Hudson, every student is educated, not as part of a
group of students, but as an individual person in a supportive,
nurturing environment.
Our Mission Statement
Hudson College provides its students with a set of
skills and value positions that will enable each, as individuals, to
attain both future personal and academic success for the betterment not
only of themselves, but also the wider community.
Our People
Our Teachers
Hudson College is very proud of its excellent and dedicated teaching
team. Our teachers are all highly qualified and experienced and share a
true passion for teaching. They care deeply about our students and
their education and learning needs. With our TOTAL PERSONAL SUPPORT™
system, Hudson teachers are dedicated to providing a personal learning
experience for our students. Our teachers also act as Teacher-Advisors,
each working closely with small groups of students to look after their
personal education and learning needs. All teachers provide free
tutoring after class upon student request. They also participate as
coaches and instructors in our extensive and exciting co-curricular
programs in athletics, drama, music, and the like. "I like to get up
early every morning for such teachers," says Arvin, who is one of our
Grade 12 students. Apparently, our teachers' care for students, and
their passion for teaching sparks students' love for learning.
Our Students
Hudson College is very proud of the diversity of its student body. This
diversity helps all Hudson students learn to respect one another and
appreciate and value their differences and their similarities.
All of our students embody the spirit of the College. They are very
active in school life and participate in all kinds of extra-curricular
activities and projects, as well as providing volunteer help to other
students. This spirit of activism and participation results in our
students having a strong sense of pride in being a part of the student
body at Hudson. Our students love attending Hudson and feel a real
sense of ownership in the school
The goal of virtually every Hudson student is to attend
university. Consequently, it is one of the College's highest priorities
to help our students with their university placement requirements.
Highlighted below are the ten things we do to meet each student’s
university placement needs as past of our Total Personal Support™
system:
Help students develop specific education plans based on various university entry requirements.
Assist students with their research and selection of
universities that best meet students’ individual academic strengths,
interests, and career goals. Help students apply to their selected universities, ensuring
that all the required documents are appropriately completed and
submitted on time. Assist students with scholarship application.
Upon student request, provide a Letter of Recommendation from the Principal.
Provide free workshops on university application, university programs, and university life.
Invite universities to visit our campus to give briefings on
their programs and admission requirements, as well as offering
interviews. Organize student visits to the universities that they wish to attend.
Contact university admission officers, registrars, or faculty
deans on behalf of our students to arrange personal interviews or to
resolve any potential problems during the application process. Help students prepare and proceed with their TOEFL, CALE,
and IELTS tests, including on-campus training courses provided in
cooperation with some well-known training schools for standardized
tests.
Hudson offers a variety of awards and scholarships every year to
recognize students' academic achievements and levels of excellence in
many other aspects of school life. Hudson is committed to encouraging
students to constantly pursue excellence and to achieve their best in
various intellectual, artistic, physical, and social pursuits.
